ARCHIVE: dfs js (Delayed Flash Show JavaScript)

Fri. Dec 9th 2005, 08:07pm:

I have just released a simple JavaScript file called dfs js (Delayed Flash Show JavaScript) that lets you hide a Macromedia Flash file (and pretty much any plugin or ActiveX Object) as it is loading in browsers like IE6, FireFox, Mozilla, Opera8, Safari etc.

Normally one would take care of the loading screen with fancy progress-bars in the Flash file itself but many times I've felt the need to just hide the Flash file while it is being loaded.

This is especially useful if you cannot change the Flash file yourself and just want to hide the display for half a second or two while Flash sets up the movie.

Demo: To view a demo and start using it yourself, check out the dfs js page.
